Need some help with my 74 Thing. The left front and left rear turn signals work great but nothing works on the right side. No flasher, no noise, no nothing. I know it’s not the bulbs since they are all new and the emergency 4 way flashers work both front and back.
Could it be a bad flasher module?
I need some help! |

No, because the flasher module doesn't know anything about the sides. The flasher module is the same for turn signals and hazard flashers and the fact that left side turn signals work + hazard flashers work means the flasher module is fine.
Most likely you will find your problem in the turn signal switch or the wiring to/from. Sounds as if the switch is not cutting the right side into the circuit.
The flasher only begins flashing when the load (the bulbs) is put into the circuit by the turn signal switch. If the switch isn't putting the load into the circuit, then no flashy. _________________ 1965 Volkswagen 1500 Variant S

If your emergency flashers work then No, it is not the flashing module, If one side works and the other don't I would check the turning signal lever mechanism. _________________ 1972 VW 181 SAFARI 1500 cc GRB Trans-axle |

Thanks for the response. I’ve ordered a new turn signal lever assembly with the wiring and will get it installed as soon as it’s delivered. |

Depending on who you ordered the turn signal assembly and what brand it is
you may have an issue with very thin prongs that tend to slip out of the connector
you might find youll have to "tin" the prongs to get them to stay in the connector
google "tinning"
using some solder you basically thicken the prongs _________________ Michael Basso
