Yeah this Westy just sat in my shop waiting for me to get on it for over a year and I finally decided to get some help with it. The challenge at this time is we have to fabricate the pop top canvass as there are no available reproductions that are close enough to the original. We've located several fabric options which are on order...the piece will be pretty straight forward to fabricate once we find/decide on the best fabric. |
The bus looks really nice!! I will definitely look forward to seeing it completed. As for the pop top canvas, maybe consider using the material from a good used bay window tent? Hope all is well. |

Thanks Marc. I was wondering about a bay tent for the pop top material...is it the same material? |

It should be. You should also have white screens , not black. I thought Tom Buese from Buswares was working on them a few yyears back so maybe you could ask him. _________________ Your Vanagon sucks, Stop waving at me.

Does anyone know where I can borrow some original window curtains to use as a guide for sewing my own? I have the original plaid fabric and want to get them close to original as possible. I will be extremely careful with the originals and make sure I return them in exactly the same condition I receive them. I only need the back curtain, one side window curtain, and one side of the cab. |

This project went on hold for personal reasons but is complete except for the interior which will be restored, and the pop top canvass which is being fabricated out of OG material to exact factory specs, including white window screens. |
