Okay, so a while back I finally found a great Single Cab that fit the bill. Turns out it was even better than I thought, judging from the reaction here: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=...mp;start=0 . Now I still love my truck, but I am considering a paint colour change to my favourite Neptune Blue(since finding a Neptune Blue SC for sale seems an impossibility). It will be a big endeavour, but I am quite sure after all the blood, sweat, and tears, I will like driving and looking at it even more(if that is possible). I am ordering Gerson gates as mine are a bit too toasty for repair, so I am gonna have to paint them something. Thus I am thinking now is the time to think about changing the colour, if ever. My biggest worry is of course losing the original paint in the cab, but going half way on a colour change (i.e. just the outside) I think always looks rather strange.
I could go on, but I was interested to hear what people thought of the idea. Should I suck it up and paint it original to match the original inside cab, or save up more dollars and put them toward new paint? _________________

it looks really good now. keep it orig. If it had more paint loss, or had had a re-spray in its life, I would say go for it, but it is only original once. The gates are a different matter. paint them some funky accent color. |
