Another VW shop closes, also a comrade (Detlev) needs help...

Picked this up off of the Yahoo Syncro Group.
I do not know Detlev personally but he has been part of the Bay Areas VW and Vanagon community for years, Unfortunately due to his illness he is closing his shop and they are liquidating.

-Due to Detlev's unfortunate situation we are closing the doors on International Auto Service. Due to this Transition Many things at the Shop need to find new homes.

Over the years we has held on to and purchased many VW, Audi, Mercedes Parts and other unique car parts that are hard to come by.

Detlev's Personal and very special Syncro Westy with a 2.5l 5cyl TDI, veggie oil conversion, solar panel and other great extras!!

Im always sad to hear that illness has struck and folks are hard up for cash.

Illness will strike us all. It shouldnt cripple us financially to deal with these things. Life could be so much more pleasant if there were a bit more compassion and less greed.

I've known him for about twenty yrs. There is a lot of ( stuff ) there. I've tripped over parts that some volks drool about. I'll make it a point to bounce over that way tomorrow or next.

Stopped by for a visit today. Since this is a recent happening, maybe contact might be slow at first.

They will be liquidating all/most things VW. I saw a few vehicles in different states of being, from builders to complete, Bus, Vanagon, Syncro.
Parts, new and used.

It seems that Michael is the main contact person. If anyone is interested , its prolly best to call the shop phone, leave a message if no one answers.

I do not know if he had an email address for the place. Would make sense that they do.

I can say no more. I did this as a way of trying to help, after I had permission.

I know this is an old post, but I thought that some of you in the Bay area might like to know that there is a big sale going on now at the shop. Detlev was sort of pack rat, I mean this in a good way, so there are many items to be found there. The sale is this weekend, but his son is at the shop most days if you can’t make the weekend.

My first audi engine was installed with a kit assembled by him - in 2003 or so.
Sad day.

Detlev is comfortable in that big warehouse of all NOS OG VW parts, including oil pumps, C&P sets, and new 1800 cc type 2 engines
