Hello, everyone!
I sold a 1963 Type I in 2012. I forget who ended up buying it, a man in Ohio I think, but I can't seem to find the documents with his info. I'd like to find the person I sold my bug to see if he would be interested in selling it back to me - I am having sellers remorse 7 years later
Model: 1963 VW Beetle
Color: Pearl White
Interior: Rust Red
Condition: All original (except paint) and in excellent condition
Year sold: 2012
Sold from: San Diego, CA
Sold and shipped off to: Ohio
The man who bought it was involved in his local historical society, I believe. Not sure if that helps, but who knows!
Any hints would be greatly appreciated. This was my second bug, and I miss is dearly.

Pretty car.
Just like an ex girlfriend that you run into later in life, your old beetle might not have retained it's beauty under the care of it's new owner/s. _________________ Everybody born before 1975 has a story, good, bad, or indifferent, about a VW.

It was probably Iowa. Nobody mixes up Idaho with Ohio.
That car has not made an appearance at any of our club events in and around Boise. Good looking '63- hope you find it. _________________

The original post has been edited to indicate the car went to Ohio. |

Talked to my dad today, who remembered it was sold to someone in Ohio. That's why I edited the original post. No mixup anymore |

Make some craigslist posts in all the major cities in oh. Offer a $100 finders fee. Most vw guys cruse craigslist for cars and parts and alot of us know each other locally or atleast know about each other. |

Realistically, you won't find YOUR old Bug.
And if you did, the dreadful mods owners have made in the meantime will turn your stomach.
You are better off finding a mildly restored or unscathed original of the same vintage and color, and making it resemble your old one as needed.
They made millions. You'll find a good replacement. |

Dont give up, even if it is trashed you can always fix it up.
I found my first car years after i sold it and bought it back. Was in a police chase and passed down a meth faimly but it was still there. |
