I hope I can explain this clearly.
I want to place the motor up high in the door where the factory speaker would be. My thought is this, and I have read nearly every post regarding power window, could this be accomplised by exchanging the cable housings and swapping the cable end for end. PLEASE tell what I an missing. Perhaps I should just relax and polish the steering gear or perhaps some other useful endeavour. _________________ Schau in das Buch |

I don't understand why you would want to, but I'll play along. I am not sure if you could get the motor up past the crash bar.
You would have to Re make the cables and the housing and calibrate exactly how much cable you'd need.
The motor housing has an extra un used hole as well as extra mouning ears which may help you or hinder you.
Forge on, I'm interested in how it turns out.

Thanks Stacy. Our van, bought new, has manual windows. It also has leather door panels with a nice speaker exactly where the electric window motor would go. Hence my desire to make more work for myself.
The reason for wanting an electric window on the passenger side is that it is increasingly difficult to reach. I retired in 2005 you can do the math on that 😊. _________________ Schau in das Buch |

So put an aftermarket unit in. It puts the motor up near the speaker. Their slower and noisier than a stock unit and the door glass does not go all the way down.
I have quite a few of them and will give you agreat price on one.
