Agreed, I have my shifter in the exact same place, probably within the inch. I like it very much. Excellent mount. _________________ 1974 Chenowth 2RL #1244 Street Legal

Thank you Richard and jimmy! Not quite as fancy as your setup jimmy but yea the location has to be close to identical. The range of motion seems to be comfortable and fit well |

As long as you don't bang your elbow on the seat when you slam it into 2nd or 4th, it's good. _________________ Richard

Had a few minutes today between work and class to bend up a few of the overlays between my seat brackets and the tube. It was compromised by whomever originally tabbed the frame.

In the immortal words of Cheech Marin:
"Good thing we no step in!"
Those overlay patches look good. Sometimes it's scary that some people think they can weld. _________________ Richard

Cody, looking good!
Question about the seat mounts... you make those or buy them? If purchased, where did you get them?
Thanks,
Al |

Hey Al thank you!
I made them but they are easily duplicated if you need a set. |

Another piece to the puzzle. If anyone has this chassis or similar and has some recommendations on rear spring rates I’d like to hear what you’ve done!?

So I know I started the pedal project awhile ago but I wasn’t satisfied with one master for the brakes.
I figured if I was gonna build mounts it should be for a double master. Well then CNC went out of business and availability for all the masters and parts I had was going to be rough so I decided to change up to the tilton pedal assembly. I got them in the mail yesterday and started mocking them up.
I hope to have them welded in this weekend we will see how it goes.

A little progress on my pedal install today. Still need to add a tube to the front of the plate to support that end.

Okay so those pedals are hardcore... But what's this little tidbit about CNC going out of business. ?? This is quite recent news.. _________________ 1974 Chenowth 2RL #1244 Street Legal

Hey jimmy so from what I was told...... they went out of business about a month ago kartek and some of the other big shops have bought out most all their inventory, but they don’t expect that to last long. |

Looks good.
Chuck Neal probably retired. He's a fair bit older than me and I've been retired for 3 years. _________________ Richard

Well after waiting a few months for some wider trailing arms and not being satisfied with the product I’ve taken a few steps backwards and started my own. I hope to have one side together and mocked up this weekend.

First of all, A++ on that design work from a constructability standpoint. That's how I do all my waterjet weldments at work, and the shop guys dig it. Once I figured out how to tolerance the tabs and slots so they tap together with a dead blow and stay put, my projects quickly became the "fun ones" out in the weld area.
Also, thanks for the CNC out of business tip. Kartek had all the rebuild kits for my hydraulics in stock so I dropped a $200 order and have a full rebuild kit set, so I'll at least get two "life cycles" out of my stuff. _________________ 1974 Chenowth 2RL #1244 Street Legal

That’s awesome I’m glad you got in on that before it became impossible to source the parts. |

Any way you'd be interested in sharing your tolerances? I'm a former CAD monkey, just doing it for my personal projects now. When I was in it professionally, I had my tolerances figured out for the wood projects in the shop I worked, but I'd rather save the R&D scrap to a minimum since I'm paying for it now LOL. _________________ "In any racing engine, the nearer you are to it disintegrating, the better it's performance will be"
