Oh, $hit, I watch that show, but I fear what he will do to a Type 3, after seeing his review of a Bug engine with 1/4" endplay that he pronounced "fine." There is a lot different about them, and unless the mechanic is up on them, it'll get butchered!

Bullitt '68

Can't believe no one has mentioned "Bullitt", with Steve McQueen....during the famous "chase" scene, there is a Beetle, a '66 or later, (movie was made in '69, I think), which shows up repeatedly, either being passed on the left, parked on the street, etc. The funny part, or the part which bothers the detail-freaks, is that the same beetle keeps gettin' in their way, as though it is faster than these two muscle cars, careening around San Francisco at 60-80 mph. Next time you watch the film, you will notice dozens of VW's (and 356 Porsches), including buses, ghias, and Type III's. Actually, the same is true for any tv show or film made on the west coast in the late 60's, early 70's. This was the "hay day" for VW, especially on the west coast.
