My car was painted several years ago. It's been in storage and over the years has become dirty. The interior is single stage. I want to wash it and wax it. Lots of small holes going into the body. This is a Late Bay Camper. My thought was to use a gentle paint brush to lift the dirt as I vacuum at the same time. I was planning on taping off all of the holes and then just using a misting spray bottle with hot water and a microfiber towel to remove any remaining dirt. I was thinking I would then apply carnuba wax and buff. I just don't want to scratch the new paint cleaning it. Can anyone suggest products or methods that I should use to do this successfully? Thanks in advance!

how assembled is it? is it still a shell?

when we do full restos and the car is naked (as in an empty shell) we hit it with a low power pressure washer to get all of the buffing slag out of it.

if it's assembled I would take an air hose to it if it's really nasty, then warm soapy water using a microfiber/soft sponge and treat it like washing a car

Better than a low pressure wash- use a "shark" or other household steam cleaning machine. I use one on anything interior because it is very controllable. Keep plenty of microfiber towels around. I pick mine up at a local thrift store that sells things at .99 cents/pound. All told my Shark (medium size), Scunchi (small) and Jiffy Steamer (big one for headliners, upholstery) cost under $25.

I should add I work for a company that sells and services hot pressure washers (vikingindustrial.com)- and have a gas engine Hydrotek for the big jobs. I am a little biased toward steaming everything. Smile
