'58 Ghia ashtray?

Hoping to shed some light on this nugget from a '58 KG. Is it correct OG,...value? Thanks for any input.

No, that’s not an ashtray from a ‘58.
Here’s a photo from John Moxon’s ‘58...

What you have is from something later that’s been over painted with that knob added. It’s not from a 356 or ‘66-‘67 without the chromed finish and the three horizontal ribs. Like this one....

LOL, I recognize that shirt in the 66-67 ashtray pic Nicholas

The knob looks like a knob from a 50's/60's kitchen or bath room. the ashtray may not be VW.

Thanks for replies/interest,...the '58 carcass/donor has correct ash tray in dash,...I'm well familiar,...this one was mounted under the dash. I've seen a similar one inna '67 KG. 😉
