I find this big red wire from the fuse box disconnected. Usually this means something is not working. Haven’t found it yet. But does anybody know where it should go? It seems to start somewhere in the middle of the fusebox. The number 9 and 12 fuse have a spare connector space... I do not just want to connect it there and mess something up..

Has anything stopped working? Do you have an electrical meter? If so see if you have 12v on it with ignition off then try with ignition on... might help deciding where on fuse box it goes. It might just be an unused PO install. If its an original wire check out the wiring diagrams on here for your year of bus, that should get you in the right area!
Good Luck

Red is typically part of the #30/B+ circuit. If connected to the fuse box it will likely have 12v on it, while if not connected it may not. It may be unfused so could make bigs spark and lead to a fire if it touches ground.

Posting the year of your rig would help.

-Find out if it has or doesn't have power on it

-Determine if something isn't working

-Trace the wire to see where it goes

-Tape it off for now until you know what it is for and where it goes.

Likely suspects it might power:

-Interior lights
-Parking lights
-Emergency flashers
-Ambulance fans

What's that blue Scotchlock tap doing down there in the lower left of the pic?

Perhaps the wire to the parking brake warning light? I removed my switch and reinstalled it in the front of the sliding door frame so the rear dome light could come on when you opened the slider, and there is a vacant wire there now that powered a radio for a while. Maybe your PO had the same idea.
