Maybe best to build it in the basement with some form of humidity control. _________________ www.edwardpowell.com |

depends on the material - for everything, a non-condensing atmosphere is paramount
oil steel, Al and esp. any Mg
keep out of the sun (UV)
Mg will eventually corrode no matter what (eventually means in a year or so) but not if you store it in a N or Argon atmosphere
rubber will continue 'vulcanizing' no matter what - even in N or Ar as the side chains will continue to bond to each other; the surface will be harmed by UV, O3, O2
and... glass will cold flow just like some suspension bushings - but it takes decades for glass _________________ .... |

just hot box it in the basement, Ed. Build a box around it, dehumidify the box locally around the motor. _________________ .ssS! |

That's a good idea.... could probably put moisture absorbent stuff in the box.
At the moment I think I can store the motor in a closet on the main floor... my thinking now is shifting to wondering where I can actually build the motor. Probably not a good idea to build it in a damp place also... It could be quite a trick trying to get the full motor down from the attic. _________________ www.edwardpowell.com |

You need a proper garage boy!
You've been building parking spaces around the globe, time to switch to garages!
