"Bone Bus" Part 2

Figured I'd start a new thread for this chapter of this bus' life. Thanks again Rich for allowing me to take ownership of this bus.

Plans are pretty simple for this one:
Lubricate
Drive
Maintain


The trip from Colorado to California was amazing. Our country is beautiful when the weather is right

Trip started out at a local attraction the bus should be familiar with (Ska Brewing)

Unloaded the rental car, hopped in and just started driving. It was a real treat to buy a car and not have to worry about it giving any issues.

Thank you Colorado for having a drive through liquor stores. Was talking to the attendant who was digging the bus, did a burn out on the way out. He enjoyed it, not as much as I did though

Rocks are red, looks neat

Found a cool camping spot. This is my first time with a camper, and holy cow that is life changing. No tent breakdowns or cleaning stuff up. Just have to shift stuff from the child's cot to the back and drive away. Game changer.

Stopped in Needles at a DMV, in-n-out in 30 minutes or less. I think its worth no longer going to my local DMV and just driving a hour or two out of the way to a small town

Where this bus will spend a good amount of time over summer.

I feel like I never write enough for these things.
The bus has a great personality, just needs some love and Brian touches to really make it mine. All the work that needs to be done going forward is mostly just customization stuff. Which is super nice.

Colorado may have drive through liquor stores but in New Orleans you can get a drive through daiquiri.

Andrew, I'm gonna head out there and have a few beers with you and the Emmas.

And yea that is Robbie's box. We brought it out just so we could start tinkering sooner than later. Didn't need to do a thing to the bus to get home, just kept driving.

ooh I love the drive through daiquiri place over there. We need some drive through booze over here

Mileage was great! I was able to squeeze 22 mpgs on the way back. I mean, I did pussyfoot it and draft some trucks but still. The motor doesn't ask to be pushed hard, it really likes to just go steady, so that helps.

Not going to lie, probably did do a few burnouts in those shorts. That I wont take videos of.

Drove the bus to work today, everyone and their grandmother told me stories of the buses they have owned over the years. Back to that grind again Spent all my time from getting home to now cleaning, and will probably do the same tomorrow. I can tell that the bone bus was driven a loooooooooooooot on the dirt. Good to know, because that's where I'll be taking it as well.

By the way, WD40 is a cleaning product not a lubricant.

Brake and reverse lights were a little dim, figured out why

Needles DMV can suck my ass. Gave me totally incorrect info on a Lien Sale for our ‘81 Westy which caused a completely unnecessary and massive waste of my time and money. Guess what. You DON’T need a VIN Inspection when doing a Lien Sale.
