I forgot to show pics of the drill operation. I started with a #30 and went to #10 which is slightly below 6mm. Followed that with the tap. |

When you're ready to install the cylinder cover tin upon final engine assembly, coat that tin screw with anti-seize compound. And don't manhandle-tighten it. That should enable an easy disassembly even years into the future. |

I would've fixed it too. If engine was installed, I'd just wait until next pull.

Thank you sir for that pearl of wisdom. Most of the problems of this nature I can handle. During my career as aircraft mechanic I've done thousands of repairs like this, so now at home it's a 10 minute romp and a beer funny thing I never wanted to do metal work, it was forced on me but once familiar it became routine,I'm still an engine guy at heart. |

Hi. Thanks 1432. Your attention to detail here shows to others what this site is all about. A small tutorial that includes the dimensions for the tools used.

Maybe the rusty heat riser bolts could be dealt with in a similar manor as outlined above. |

This explains why your opening post sounded a lot like aircraft repair disposition planning instructions.
Thanks for sharing! I hate drilling broken bolts. |
