Thanks Bill
Itching to get back at it too. Larry really wants this thing to attend a Schlafly Brewery Show this year.

After what seemed like an eon, I have finally healed enough from my shoulder surgery to get back to work.

Picked up where I left off last fall...continuing body work on the cab.

Right "B" pillar ready for high-build primer.

Also, notice that I had to work the front section of the new dogleg too, there were low spots at all the spot welds.

The front was pretty wavy, must have been pushed on numerous times, so it has been putting my blocking skills to the test.
The compound curves as well as the peak of this nose was a real challenge, but I got it ready for high build primer now.

Moved up to the last area on the main body to be worked before primer...the roof.

This small area is THE LAST of the 5 old paint jobs that is left!

I've used many techniques to remove this paint a section or two at a time from paint remover to sandblasting to a DA sander. Nice to be rid of the thick brush painted paint jobs finally, even though it's a little bitter sweet since I've been looking at it so long.

Par for the course on this truck...the roof had been walked on and was wavy as a lake on a windy day.

Got a thin skim coat on and blocked...one more check mark done before high-build.

Also, got my reservation set for the spray booth in one week!

Some of you may have noticed the rough cut-outs for the fried eggs.

My best guess is that the whole front was replaced using a pre-62 piece and then cut with tin snips to accept the later fried eggs.

The whole front of this truck has revealed a fairly bad accident in it's past that was repaired extensively using a gas torch and brass. I'm guessing maybe very early in it's life while it still had enough value to warrant such repairs.

Re-blocked the entire truck once more to remove any contaminants and surface rust with 180 grit and Scotch-brite pads.

Got epoxy primer on it today.

First time in one color in over 3 years.

While the epoxy is curing, I started on the doors.

Stripped the engine cover and repaired the hinge mounts.

Looked like there were some stripped out fasteners of some sort for the license bracket. I repaired it by tacking some nuts to the backside.

Highlighted the highs and lows with guide coat and a long block...looks like a full skim will be required after a little hammer and dolly work.
