A lot of people say the ‘62 model had Mohair and others say smooth vinyl quarters with perforated headliner & then just the plain smooth vinyl.
Conclusion is that it’s a mishmash for ‘62?
My 2/62 build has smooth quarters, b Pilar’s and the perforated vinyl headliner. A lot of people disagree and say it should be mohair. I think it to be original as the rest of the car but who knows lol.
Just thought I’d share my headliner to add to the confusion

Cloth is correct. Vinyl from the factory for '62 is not. |

How can you be 100% certain? Not saying you’re wrong but others had a mishmash of headliners in ‘62.
My 2/62 build beetle was a 1 owner car. The perforated vinyl headliner was glued to the sound deadening material in the package tray with nails from the carpet. Also the smooth vinyl quarters are glued over top of the perforated headliner. _________________ 1962 Beetle

This is the listing in Progressive Refinements. It lists changes for standard version beetle but the change is the same for 113 as well. The next change is Aug 5 63 where it states headliner now one piece.

My 61 Body Sunroof Baja is a good example. It had a "mohair" headliner, but the parts along the "windlace" and under the rear side windows were in deerskin-pattern Silver Beige vinyl. In this photo, the only original bits showing are those bits of stock vinyl. And the cap on the coat-hook.

I do not know how to fix this. All I can say is it all works fine for me with what I use, Firefox. |

It is not only about the material. Your headliner is also wrong because it is a one piece. Look at the other pictures were you can see that the headliner is devided into three parts along the roof.
Perforation of the venyl headliner ensures the sound absortion. |

I would beg to say his headliner IS the original based on the separate section around the rear window. No reproductions have this with the one piece sides. _________________ '67 Beetle L41
