It'd be nice if they covered several segments of folks: hipster, monetizing #vanlifers; non-monetizing van owners and the segment of urban dwelling RVers trying to get by living in a ratty old RV on city streets. The last segment are the folks I'd like to learn more about.

Then again, I don't watch these programs so I'll never see it and don't care.

Yeah, I think many sambanistas don't fit in any of those categories. We'd definitely make for a boring TV segment.

And here they are, diagnosing a no-start in an '84 1.9. But wait, an oil debate just started over by the fire. Let's hear what they have to say. Over there are a couple of people discussing 14" wheels v. 16" wheels...

Not "boring," waaaaay too exciting!

Wink

Just wait 'til we're racing a Formula Vee next to our pitside Westy motel. Heads will blow.

Then again there will be no artificial drama, so nobody will care. Laughing

But truthfully, they’re ALWAYS diagnosing a no-start issue on a 1.9 liter engine.... Laughing

I wish these types of programs would educate the populace about the differences between van life and #VanLife.

I don't know the difference, my own self, and I live in my van.
Have for many years.

Living in your van, enjoying the freedom of the open road, while understanding the limitations it may sometimes involve? Living in your van due to unforeseen circumstances? That's van life.

Living in a van because you can't handle the real world, posting photos/videos on social media every minute of the day of idyllic scenic locations and/or of scantily clad women, all for the sake of "likes" and/or in an effort to be a paid social media influencer, ignoring the realities of mechanical breakdowns and not showering for two weeks? That's #vanlife.

nah, hes undoing/re-doing the bolt on the other side of the starter. you can get to it only from that side, its the more difficult of the two.

Nothing cool about gypsies, they smell. Someone is leaving the dark stains on the sidewalks of California metropolises.

^^^ If Bay Area, maybe it's legally-naked locals. Shocked

We've met very few troublesome "gypsies." Mostly they're just normal people trying to survive in an abnormal era. Unless you mean the homeless, who have nothing but our compassion.

There were several Vanagon stills, some vans you'd probably recognize from here, interspersed with the interviews featuring Bob Wells of cheaprvliving.com and the family in the converted school bus.
