So with your kids, maybe consider a Rialta, built on a Eurovan chassis. Much more room, still great MPG, and actually less expensive than a Eurovan. This from a Vanagon owner who was tired of the noise and lack of bathroom.

If you or your husband is 6' or taller, then maybe not. These aren't known for headroom.

While a Rialta might be larger, they have a horrible floorplan that effectively renders it useless for anything more than a couple.

There are 3-4 different floorplans. Mine is the HD, which is as you say. Others, like the QD, can sleep 4, maybe 5 with small kids sharing beds.

If you still need advice on a shop for a pre-purchase inspection, I can recommend Precision Motor Car:

http://www.precisionmotorcar.com/

They didn't do my PPI (bought my van out of state), but I did have them install a transmission cooler - they always have a few vans in the lot. They also worked on my '86 GTI back in the '90s, so they've been around a while Smile
