Have you seen the pic of the bus with a rear Bice mounted that was recently rear-ended? The bus did not fair too well. The bumper was relatively fine, as I recall. _________________ nothing

That was mine. Yeah, the bumper held up well. That energy has to go somewhere and the frame is a lot thinner than the bumper... |

Looks like the bumper is just fine. I'm not convinced I would want that frame and body damage over a twisted up stock bumper after something like that. I'd be curious to see what sort of body/frame damage could happen to the front of a Shasta bus with a Bice front bumper.
This truck had a front Bice when it hit a Railroad tie fence corner at highway speed. The bumper was twisted, but I sold it and it got put back into service. The truck got cut up.

Not really the point I was trying to make. It is simply about what damage would you choose if you got into a wreck. If it were about crash protection, or safety, we would all drive big trucks with air bags. _________________ nothing |

Did anyone ever start reproducing the Bice bumpers? Or is there any new info out there on these beauties? I would like to put a set on my single cab. |

Actually looked into a short run. But just having the two bends made, including the 4" channel was a little over $400 per piece, not including the rest of the material and fab work. So, needless to say I did not do it. I posted dimensions a page or two back which should get you started. You might have access to a fab shop that doesn't think their schiesse don't stink. _________________ "My biggest worry is that when I die, my wife will sell all my parts for what I told her I paid for them"-Jon

I copied your dimensions a few years back, but unfortunately have no one in my area to bend the steel. I appreciate all the contributions to this topic, and if I find anything to contribute I surely will. I for now will stay on the hunt! |

Recently picked up this Bice looking bumper. Came off a 21 window. Has bracing to the front beam bolt, along with normal mounting locations. Any ideas on who made it? |

Could be a BICE that was modified. Hard to tell without a lot more detailed images. _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |

If there's a certain spot that's a give away I'd gladly take more pics.
The front mount is like a factory bumper. It doesn't go under the chin. |

Ends of the bumper and the mounts might help. _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |

From the first page of this thread:
So if your bumper was a BICE one, it was heavily modified. You can see the mounts and the ends were bolted directly to the stock points. _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |

Yes, it's a bay, but it does appear to have Bice bumpers. Never seen that before. It looks like at least the front one was made to fit a bay front shape. |
You think that style of front bumper is bay specific ? Will it fit a splittie, as far as the profile ? _________________ Looking for SP Kadron manifolds...please !!
