new spring and then screwed it in place. Probably should use Loctite or something on it..? Should I put some kind of grease or something in between the switch and pod? I saw someone here did the same a long time ago.

Yes, Dielectric grease will be good for that job. I used it on my switches

Thanks for the help Jeff, amazing work

Got it home around august 2018. Been standing until like 2 months ago when I started to mount in the new tranny for it. Had to change the clutch-spring, bearings and gaskets. And also ofcourse thange the nose cone.

After this I got a new place to use as a garage much closer, been 1,5 hour away before! ' haven't had a real garage in a couple of years, that's one reason why this building has been standing still for so long.

So now can I finally start building for real Laughing Been working a couple of hours everyday now last week. Been working on preparing the front-beam, grind it down and put some paint on everything.

Took of the small pipes from the shocks

Got a less nice suprice when I took the beam appart.. the lower torsion leaves was broken. Already got a NOS for the upper one but now I had to find another one for the lower. Luckily I found another NOS after a couple of days! Waiting to get it home right now.

The bakelitepod needed some treatment too. The clips that holds the lamp-sockets were in a bad shape, one was even broken so these had to be changed.

Managed to drill them out, put some threads in and screw them into place with some locktite

Cleaned up the fusebox and it ended up pretty nice

Got the beam in temporarily for making the rails, haven't welded them yet, need to drill the holes first, but that's next.

Haven't seen this bus project for awhile!
Should I be ashamed to say my favorite part of your update is the fuse box restoration?
Nice detail work.

Got the frontbeam rails sorted today, drilled holes, fitted into place and welded. Only had like 1,5 hour to spend after work so this was all I managed to do. Also got the rails painted so now I'ts ready to be fitted onto the bus!

Hellberg, Mo & Domsjö AB 1955 is looking great, congratulations.

How did you clean these connectors? Did you use vinegar and water or electric clean? They turned out great. I love your new workspace too. Wink

I only used degreaser and a toothbrush, managed to get out the screws carefully using nothing but a screwdriver and then I layed them in a bath of rust-dissolver. Used a small steel brush on the connectors Laughing

Got the old lady down on its wheels, brakes finished and almost all mechanical work finished and then I gave it a gentle wash. Still waiting to get the enginge home, until then I have some small works to do.
I'll need to put some hours to get the new paint to blend in nice with the old paint, don't really like the looks of it now. Not really satisfied with the rims either Laughing
