CiP hella mexican headlights not fitting with beauty rings

I have my stock 1967/1968 vw beetle woody headlights. As you can see yhe metal assembly and rounded out glass bulb.

The other headlight, still a hella, but hecho en mexico is plastic assembly, half the weight.

I have the newer plastic headlight asse.assembly installed in the fender, and with the beauty ring installed, well i cannot get the stock metal beauty ring installed.

Any advice?

Those lights are designed to not use that ring.. If you want it you will have to do some hacking.
