Does anybody know if there is a lift kit available for a 2011 Jetta? I'm not looking for crazy, off-road lift. Just an inch or two for some clearance for winter driving. I have a 2011 Jetta Sportwagen.

You could easily make some upper strut lift plates, or have some fabricated...personally I would make my own, looks like your 2011 jetta has struts at every corner Smile

Here's a random link that shows front upper strut lift plates so you can get an idea of what I mean http://janeandjohn.org/pages/carry/liftkit.html

for your 89 I would try to source a used mk2 golf country suspenion as those were lifted from the factory and should bolt right up to your mk2 jetta

I believe you can fit stock Tiguan springs for your 2011.

I would try a set of add on sleeve coilovers, like Ground Control ones.
Then you can get longer springs and set the spring rates too

I installed a 2" kit from Metalnerd. I also installed all-terrain truck tires.

I did this because I hit a huge hole on my drive home from work. It damaged both front wheels, tore out the OEM underbody splash pan & left fender liner. It also damaged the left front strut upper bearing. I got the idea to lift it while I was installing a pair of quick struts. I also installed a dieselgeek skid plate.

Thanks.

Tires are General Grabber AT2's.

Front: 205/75r15 on 15x6 OEM steel rims.
Rear: 225/70r15 on custom 15x8 widened OEM rims (5" backspace).

Yeah, I would get a Subaru, but this diesel gives me 45 mpg. I drive it 150 miles round trip daily to NYC, which is where the bad roads are.

I am going to build an EJ257 for my Syncro, does that count?

Last time in my Impreza I got 42mpg over a 200 mile drive. I used to commute from Long Island to Leonia, NJ.

Very nice!

My Passat Syncro g60 has a 2'' lift kit already but with 205 55 15 tires.

Your combo looks much better.

Is there any scrubbing?

Will let you know. No rubbing noticed yet. I'm still looking for the optimum tire pressure. Right now, I'm running 30 psi in the front and 33 in the rear.

The 2"lift blocks & the 2" taller than stock tires gave the car an oversteer / bump-steer feeling. I had it aligned yesterday and it feels better now.

Interesting! I just swapped in Jetta wagon trailer towing package rear springs which took care of a broken rear spring on our '02 Jetta. Gained a good 2" I would guess. Now looking to get the front up out of the dirt. It seems the front springs are the same wagon/sedan but they are going in anyway. Looking at building 1.5" spacers to go under the front struts, slip onto the bottom of the shock and slide into the spindle.

Thoughts?

As far as Subies go - no thanks! We have a Forester, goes like a cut cat but is absolutely the WORST car I have ever tried to drive on ice. Totally unstable and unpredictable!! It will be the last Subie we will own.
