Please go to the beginning of this thread before wondering what I am doing.
This graph is my ongoing extracts of active adverts for Splits made in June 2019 (I can flag and did remove Brazil from pre-2018 data).
Data is Average Asking Price. I thought I noticed - via my eyeballs - that prices were softening, but I wanted to get some hard data. Keep in mind these are only 200 active advertisements, so a single extract doesnt show a trend.

Trumps trade war was escalating. No joke look at the timeline of events around May 2 years ago. Liquidating assets like VW busses is always first! lol

Redid graph, representing about 4400 "active" Split (non-Barndoor) adverts with each extract containing roughly 200 adverts, which is what typically runs at any given time. This corrects the category issue I previously had.
Kombi and Panel trend is flat or down.

(I know now "Walk Thru" isnt a model, just a data error there that doesnt really affect anything.)
For those experienced members who may know something about "mid-model year" changes that may have occurred for either one of these, I grant you that, but I can only capture and classify adverts by advertised model year. |

This is quite interesting, and while my buses hopefully will never have to be sold, this is quite useful when valuing them for insurance numbers.

You hit on one of my burning questions: What percent of offering was the purchase price. In your case: 92%. I wonder if that is typical. Maybe nothing is typical, but every little bit of information helps your brother and sister enthusiasts, so thanks!

Yes at the time I was looking for a bullet nose DC and there were I believe 3 listed all 3 were seam gate trucks. The one I bought was listed 29.3 I offered him 25k he immediately said no but would for 27k so I rang the bell at 27k.
Soon after I noticed the market on bullet nose DC's hit over 30-35k and was offered through PM's over 30k for mine.
I blame that on the sellers bad picture taking which helped me out because I saw its potential with a little cleaning up.
Within a short time after mine, the next one in your list after mine "Transmission Majishun' sold for 27k to a guy in L.A.

Please go to the beginning of this thread before wondering what I am doing.
This graph is my ongoing extracts of active adverts for Splits made in August 2019 (I can flag and did remove Brazil from pre-2018 data).
Data is Average Asking Price. Kombi average asking price continues the downward trend. And our friend the double cab is holding its own as usual.
This data represents 5800 active advertisement extracts from 2016-2019. I have some detail in the data, but unfortunately do not capture advertiser names or locations.
"Other" in data is data I cannot readily categorize even though I am extracting from each Split model.
