I'm not an expert, but, that said,
5x112 is right.
66.6 centerbore fits.
14mm lug hole will fit.
43 et definitely will need spacers. Since stock et is 30, 13mm would bring you back.
Definitely would need longer bolts front and pressed into the back, with the correct ball seat, whether its small or large I don't know.
Center caps may or may not fit.
Christopher at t3technique knows and sells all the stuff you'll need.
All of that aside, ideally I think staying under 40et is best, but I'm a little bit funny that way.
Maybe Christopher has an educated opinion on that. _________________ One of these days I'm gonna settle down,

I'm no expert either, but I do know Christopher/T3 is on vacation until July 8th, I'm getting ready to do the front end overhaul "stuff" and eagerly but patiently await a reply to a question I have before placing an order. _________________ 1991 Vanagon GL 2.1 AT Westfauxlia. Anybody know which wheel this is? Sorry for the bad pic, was blown up from a small pic I found of a van with this wheel on it. Looks like a 16".
I looked at tons of pics but can't find the exact one. The use of hosting sites for pics has REALLY screwed up this thread!

I'm going to guess audi because of the dimple on the ends.
They made 16 and 17 like that from what I remember.
Maybe on the s4?
I'll also guess at et45 just because I like to guess a lot.
At least a 50 percent chance that I'm 100 % wrong, of course.
Another thing, I was looking at audi wheels a long time ago, and I'd swear these are the same ones that Christopher recommended against because the ET put the wheels way out there. _________________ One of these days I'm gonna settle down,

I think I found them. AT Itlia 16" 6.5W
Is there a 7" version too?
I didn't notice it sticking out at all on the small pic I saw.
Yes hubs are machined out to fit. Saw one on ebay for $35. Lots of deals on them if you search.

Those really are the same ones, AT italia with an et of 16, meaning that they sit outboard from the stock et30 by 14mm.
I was concerned that sitting out 14mm would have an unfriendly effect on steering, also with braking, maybe hard wear on components, maybe even hard wear on the tires, BUT, I don't know since I never got them.
They do look good though. _________________ One of these days I'm gonna settle down,

Ebay.
I saw 3 AT italia on there.
*full disclosure* I am not an expert, the guy who sees all/knows all is Chistopher, the guy who started this thread.
I believe he's off on vacation right now, but he's the one to ask. _________________ One of these days I'm gonna settle down,

No specs on the BCD, centerbore or ET number so no telling if they fit, and the brands listed have conflicting specs (Datsun and BMW don't fit Vanagon, etc.).
See if the seller can provide more details, like a 5x112 found in the web area of the wheel; that's five bolts on a 112mm circle. Nice looking wheels.

Sure, but that doesn't tell you what you need to know.
Like Ronal, they probably made these in 5x112, 5x120, and who knows what else, along with a variety of offsets. _________________ One of these days I'm gonna settle down,

Any know anything about these rims?
Reported as C280 Sport Rims - 16 x 7 ET 37.
Would standard Audi/VW lugs nuts and ball seats work on these if they are drilled to 14mm?
Thanks,

Paul, those wheels fit best when you use thin spacers on the front, slightly thicker on the rear (to help even out the track width) and you will definitely need longer rear studs, small ball seat lug nuts, and small ball seat front lug bolts. Standard Audi/VW lug bolts are too short and the Vanagon gall seat lug nuts do not seat in the wheel properly. _________________ "Sometimes you have to build a box to think outside of." - Bruce (not Springsteen)

Hey Chris,
I already have longer studs installed for the Passat wheels and 12 mm spacers I'm running now and longer front Lugz for the same Passat wheels. I think I bought the hardware from you? So I was wondering if that Hardware will fit with these wheels? Or do I need to measure the ball seat radius to verify?
Thanks, Paul _________________ '89 Westy - EJ25/22 Frank 4.44 5mt

The Mercedes wheels are about 23mm thick and the Passat wheels are about 10mm this. This means that the studs that work with the Passat wheel are too short to work with the Mercedes wheels. But yes, they both use lugs that have the same ball profile. _________________ "Sometimes you have to build a box to think outside of." - Bruce (not Springsteen)

Long time lurker here. I have a set of msw/oz rims 6.5x 16 et 38 wondering what the best set up would be with 215/60 r16 tires on a 89 Wolfsburg tin top.
