There must be people that have had to clean out debris from the "lower" (inner) rear louvers. Mine is full of leaves and grime. Looks like access could only be gained by removing the louvers from inside the engine compartment. This would be a pretty intricate job. Anyone out there even attempted this?
This being said I have not tried using air from both angles to see how it works. I would think cleaning and painting them is not easy either.
Ideas and thoughts?
Thanks _________________ June 1956 VW Oval Beetle |

They are open on the ends for "easier" access compared to the later models, but to clean it up really well then your best bet is to drill out the spotwelds securing the panel _________________ Aust. RHD 66 Type 1

Thank you, I am a ways away but will look closer at the spot welds. Once they are cleaned and painted will see if they could be modified for better access. I see some cover the louvres when stored. _________________ June 1956 VW Oval Beetle |
