Asked this over on the Baywindow forum and have not yet had an answer:
Jasco made a product called Prep and Prime. I loved it. So like all things that I really like, they quit making it. The formulation was perfect and the prime was hard as iron and smoothed out easily. It beat the hell out of every other product I have tried. Hopefully someone is making that product. Anyone know? _________________ '65 Beetle "Lil' Lulu"- Ruby Red

Already use the silver for a few years. This is the phosphoric acid type product that Chuck insists you use before the silver. _________________ '65 Beetle "Lil' Lulu"- Ruby Red

I found this a while back on the MasterSeriesCT.com website. It sounds like it may be what you are looking for.
MasterSeries Metal Prep: https://shop.masterseriesct.com/product.sc?productId=16&categoryId=1
From a different website
I am not sure if this is the same "MasterSeries" product but the product listed here looks to be the sane as the one in the link above. This link has a description however.
https://nomorerust.com/store/metal-prep-rust-remov...mover.html
You may also want to look into Kleen Strip prep & Etch, Ospho, or Eastwood After Blast. They are all Phosphoric acid based bare metal treatments.

Zinc Chromate primers are self-etching, but have no build qualities. If there are surface imperfections at all, a primer surfaced must follow. Besides etching steel it sticks nicely to aluminum, magnesium, or true stainless steel! |
