I guys
a few weeks ago i buy from CIP1a a C13-3439 - EMPI - QUIET PACK EXHAUST SYSTEM - BUS 72-74 & 1979 ONLY / VANAGON 80-83
and I think it's noisy (no exhaust leak)did the stock muffler more quiet
never heard one
if I install the stock one did I have to put the heat shield to _________________ VW bus type 2 1978 transplant engine 1975 1800cc fuel injection |

It's waay loud to me after I put one on for a few months til I found the EMP stainless steel 4 into 1 which is quieter but not as quiet as a stock muffler _________________ 70 Ghia Black convert-9/69 build date-stock w/133k 1600 SP-barn find now with a rebuilt tranny and engine

I used an Ernst muffler, the sound is very reasonable

Might check for holes..
My Empi T-Bird copy had a hole right in the very middle of the collector.
Stuff a rag in the pipe when it's running and climb under.
Any leaks will become obvious if you look closely. _________________ Bus Motor Build
