Hi Folks
I am just about to start up my 1.6NA D after it has been sitting for almost one year... someone just told me that the fuel can be old and have resin build up or something... and I should first - before start up - put in some sort of drying agent ???

Or at least put in some fresh fuel.
I think the tank is now about half full of 11 month old fuel.

Any advice... thanks!

diesel ages better than gasoline. microbial growth will be your biggest bugaboo and the filter will trap that ropey slime. so may you'll plug some filters as you work thru the tank.

it's good to store any tank full to minimize condensation moisture but on diesels, a biocide additive is good. peruse the Power Service offerings and pick one that makes you feel better! in short, it'll be fine.
