Good old rotary switches seem like a big advantage over circuit boards, especially when you're dealing with water and heat:

I have a couple of these from this company. One lasted around 5 months and then crapped out. Through Amazon i contacted the manufacture. They replied the next day to check a couple of things on it. Nothing worked. They replied back they'd replace it. A few days later a brand new one arrived. They said to use the old one for parts. No need for it back.

Great customer service by the company.

Do you have the 6 liter size? Looks just about right.

I have several that I use. My biggest is a 15L. It would hold a 34-3 carb, no problem. The smaller ones are used for little parts.

So is the 15L the smallest you would recommend for dipping entire carb bodies? Thinking if motorcycle carb work, too. But those are mostly smaller than a 34 PICT3.

When I clean carbs, I have them fully disassembled. This makes it easier to get them fully submerged. You could get a smaller Ultrasonic cleaner to clean them. I used the small $60 ultrasonic cleaner to clean a 34-3 carb that was disassembled. It wasn't deep enough to submerge the disassembled base. I just cleaned one part of it then flipped it upside down.

Anyone tried these portable units?

https://www.amazon.com/Household-Ultrasonic-Profes...MNG5S37BSE

It would be handy to use whatever size container you need instead of being limited by the size of the cleaner's tank (I'm thinking the kitchen sink when the wife's away). I'm also thinking that you could fill a gas tank with water based cleaning solution and drop one in. That would be nice since I no longer have a radiator shop that boils tanks.

Interesting, it says "recommended sink size 3-5 liters", you may need a few to get something like a gas tank jiggling. But it would be useful for oddly shaped things that don't fit in a normal unit, like when you stick a carb in and 1/4 of it is out of the water yet there's a ton of room on the sides. Find a container that fits.

Yeah, I was thinking 2, although my immediate problem is a few small 2-stroke engine tanks that only hold a gallon or so. Even with a VW tank as long as you could let it sit in a corner and turn the unit on every time you walk by for a couple weeks, the thing might get the job done.
