If it was kudzu you wouldn't be able to see the crane and it would have made it down to the bug as well.

I've been asking about this car since 2005... it was beautiful back then but hadn't moved an inch. Gave up maybe five years ago. Last week the local scrapyard called to say they were diverting a car to my house. I'm glad it's here and not squashed, but what a shame. I don't think the tires have even been driven on.
The parcel shelf is gone (rear window looks to have fallen out a while ago) but the pan and heater channels are actually pretty good. I have no idea how. Inner wheelhouse areas are decent too... I'm really surprised. The damage in the rear 1/4 looks like it was a collision repair from ages ago, there's no real rot, just a bunch of deformed metal with bondo over top.
Of course I recently sold the brand new convertible top I had for years.

Yeah I was pretty excited about that! For what I paid, I'm ecstatic. Just wish I could have saved the thing years ago.

Went for a hike up a local mountain this weekend and came across this… definitely a 1972 or later standard Beetle. It’s in the absolute middle of nowhere. I have no idea how it got there. The odd thing is that there aren't any roads anywhere. It's all heavy forest and the Beetle is a long ways from any flat area where it could have been driven. There’s no motor, transmission or wheels. Almost seems like a helicopter would have had to drop it there. A real mystery.
