I have been reading about the Blaze cut. But I will be in Fla. I read they go off just because it is hot? How much of a problem is this?

Wouldn't the temperature in the engine bay be far warmer than at any point weather could cause? Mine was fine in death valley at 110 degrees F...

248 degrees is the temperature needed to melt the plug and release the beast.

Has it ever gone over the 100 mark in Miami?

The humidity aspect that can make it uncomfortable for people is irrelevant, so if it would blast off in Miami it would also in Minneapolis.
Just seems a little unlikely.
Like maybe one of those rumors that gets going.

I have a hot running Bostig, easily topping 245 degrees cylinder head temperature on a hot, 100 degree Texas summer afternoon. No blowout of the Blazecut yet. Mine is mounted around the perimeter of the engine bay.

I live in south florida and daily drive mine. I’ve had my blaze cut in for a year and a half now with no issues.

Same experience in Tucson -- routinely in the 100s, sometimes in 'the teens' - no problem with my Blazecut.

I live in Miami and have had mine installed for 2 years with no problem. The highest temp down here i drove it in was 102 degress. It is unusual to get that hot here. Usually the temp is 90-96 degrees in the summer. Now the heat index is another thing. I have seen 115 degrees heat index. That is the combination of the Temperature and humidity. That is what gets you here, the humidity 80-95 percent in the summer. Brutal.

Last summer we drove out of LA to Sequoia and saw 110° from Palmdale to Mojave. Our indoor/outdoor thermometer was reading over 128° outside as we drove - the bulb is mounted on the undercarriage not far from the scorching asphalt. At a lunch stop - inside temps went up to 135° while we were enjoying the restaurants AC. The engine compartment under all that insulation with bedding and luggage above and hot pavement below must have been well over 250° Nary a problem with the blazecut. Was stressing about the original stock expansion tank however....

(not repeating that adventure)

Yep, Blazecut Wives' Tale all right, they'd be out of business by now if true. Engine bays are nowhere near hot enough, and aerated, and vented.

Ours is mounted to the engine cover in a delicate little heart pattern. Razz

The Heat Index is how temperature and humidity affect animals -- and has no bearing on the actual stresses on anything else.

Same with wind chill, inversely.

Ssdhhh. I sell lots of cold weather batteries on the wind chill number.

I can’t make a living with educated masses.

Been in Moab, Utah with 106 deg. and in Fort Lauderdale, Florida all summer. Not a problem.

Like I said, wind chill makes batteries colder.
