So I recently bought full production molds of VW bug as well as chassis jig. I have been running a version to Pikes peak in 2018 and going one more year this June 2019.
I'm confident that plateform on King shocks and proper control arms is going to be winning some Dakar races. Please follow along the build if you are into Motorsports.

Small update! We're on our way to Pikes Peak with a super updated Bug. New CV axles from The DriveShaft Shop, slick tires from BFGoodrich, and clutch and flywheel from Southbend Clutch.
The car is up to 222whp and 320wtq, wet weight with driver 1800lbs! Such a beast! Loaded up on the trailer and headed west. Our Vanagon Syncro Westy is caravanning along as our assistance vehicle, and it's got the same motor, so we've got spares!
If you're in the area, come check us out at Fan Fest in downtown Colorado Springs on June 28th! We'll be there to show off the bug and answer questions.
We're shooting for the fastest diesel time up the peak, so keep an eye out for our new record!

Heading that way next week. Daughter getting married in gunnison. Thought pikes peak was kinda closed. Cog train out of comission. Road under const. But a charter coach would run you up the hill for 67$ a head. I picture a moose saying sorry folks, we're closed. Keep us posted. Not really looking foward to kansas. _________________ My cut in half and rebuild thread

The friction material on those clutch discs wear out the pressure plate & flywheel before the pucks do. _________________ Everybody born before 1975 has a story, good, bad, or indifferent, about a VW.

Small update, the car is doing pretty amazing! the CUAA enigne is a beast and currently running a conservative tune with only 39PSI and 820C temps EGT'S
i was limited to put power due to spining the 450 FT-LBS clutch from Southbendclutch so they just sent me a 600 Ft-Lbs version! with that in place! ( hopefully today) i'll be able to use the 45PSI and 950C EGT tune @115 MG IQ
So im running the G25-550 from Garrett and it's solid!
the car does some low 7 runs on mild tune! im looking forward the 600 ft lbs clutch capabilities! probably be in the 6sec club
