Not mine. It’s my neighbors. Runs solex 30 pict 2 with a Pertronix module. Car runs fine. Hard to start sometimes unless he pours gas down the carb throat. Runs great once it’s going. When it warms up and you come to a stop, it will stall out. |

Rebuild the carb.
Look for intake leaks when hot.
While you’re at it, do a compression and leak down test, check torque on the heads and adjust the valves. _________________ Volkswagen!

For the starting issue, check the operation of the accelerator pump output, and check to make sure the choke is working properly.
For the stalling when coming to a stop, as suggested, check for vacuum leaks. _________________ *ASE Recertified Master Automotive Tech*

The engine only has 2000 miles on it. Valves are adjusted. Where would you check for vacuum leaks on the car? I’m going to see him tomorrow. |

Check the entire intake tract for leaks; manifolds to heads, manifolds to intake pipe, intake to carburetor base, throttle shaft bushings, and any vacuum lines that are fed by the intake BELOW the throttle blade. _________________ *ASE Recertified Master Automotive Tech*

Stalling is probably improper intake heat, Starting issue improper choke setting. Could be alot of other things, but these are common issues _________________ Pres. Rivercity VW Club www.rcvwclub.org
