Bought a TIV case $$$ from Bernd. Somewhat of a hassle to arrange it because of the time difference and he only sells in EU so you have to pay your bank wire fee. He doesn't take Visa or paypal anymore even though his website says he does - and he is older and not really good getting back to people. The case arrived poorly packed and damaged so I sent it back a month ago. Can't get a hold of him at any hour of the day there. Some folks who buy his things said it took six months to sort it out with him. My engine build is all screwed up now because I have not a clue what is happening at that end and I am out $1500 until it is made good. He seems to always come thru for people but some people just give up on him. I've e-mailed, mailed letters, faxed, in English and German, left messages. Just beware if you buy something from him that it may take forever to get it.

maybe true Don but it wasn't the FI case he said it was either. The guy seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth. The business has as had a solid reputation in the past but someone in Berlin said he sold the business so I may be dealing with the new guy or the business is in escrow. I don't know. But I do have some skills as an old bill collector that will get results from local authorities over there if I don't hear something soon. I wasn't looking for a freebee on this.

as a followup, had a friend in NY contact the guy to see if was in business and open to sell something. He responded that the item inquired was available. Who ever owns the business now is just ignoring the problem with the case.

still working on it. I hope he realizes that I just want a case in good condition, FI case if possible. I am not trying to cost him money, actually I was considering adding more to the order until this happened and now until it is resolved I would suggest others hold off on the purchases to him until I report back it is resolved.

not resolved yet. USPS called up notes from German postal system. They say was delivered then requested to be picked up so they did and sent it back to customs and now it is sitting in PO in Germany.

Samba member in Holland spoke with him this morning and said he never saw the photos, has been on vacation, and never got it but will be happy to resolve it when he gets the case back. He is a likeable fellow but right now this is in circular routing. USPS said they are sending a message to German postal system to please deliver the package to him again.

DHL says that he was notified by Customs to pick the case up and sign for it, or have it dropped off to him. They consider that delivery. He did not get back to them, and now the case is stilling somewhere at DHL, and is probably lost. I am out about $1500 at this point until we find a resolution. Several Samba members who speak German are helping me with this. He is 90 and lost his wife last year.

Still no resolution. The guy doesn't take care of problems.

Won't get into the long of it but some people who speak German got involved. He said he would refund the money when he got the case but he refused delivery. My guess is that at age 90 he is senile. Another Samba member bought some items and he got them but then he couldn't get a hold of Riechert to pay for them. I can't recommend dealing with him.
