I'm not much of a patina guy.
That being said. Your car looks great. That shine makes the finish sooooo much easier on the eyes.
Thanks for the link to VWLooms.com. If I ever need a wiring loom. That will be my go to place.
Please keep posting updates. I wanna see the final product.
Good Luck. _________________ I have learned over the years.

Leave the Pope's nose off & mount the tag to the bumper so you can retain the "Slender man" silhouette visible on the deck lid. _________________ Everybody born before 1975 has a story, good, bad, or indifferent, about a VW.

I'm still looking for a very nice original grey rear mat to match the NOS front one I have.

Wow you're lucky to have some RHD front mats! A whole nation of Australian bug owners would like to find good RHD rubber mats. They're unobtanium! New or old!
After all, us and the Poms all drive Rural Mail Cars. They're not so rare! _________________ 1968 1500 RHD Lotus White Beetle since birth. In the hospital for major surgery

Are yours US spec though? |
What's that?
I would expect yours is either a Model 112 - Standard Sedan - RHD or a Model 114 -Deluxe (Export) RHD. (compared to Model 111 and 113 for LHD). That's how they would have come out of the factory. Maybe there were slight differences for indicator lights etc.
I would AssuMe that they ordered a RHD vehicle and just delivered it to the US. We probably have LHD vehicles here too in the past for the same duty. _________________ 1968 1500 RHD Lotus White Beetle since birth. In the hospital for major surgery
