The clamps currently being used are of good quality and smooth on the inside. They are not the shitty off the rack Flaps type.

That being said. They are ugly. Never liked them.

Had a great drive. Katie really had no
idea I was coming up. Totally surprised.

After I left Avery’s I continued north on my boring ass weekly drive. Car ran great and brakes so much better now.

Agreed. Awesome!

Why is the brake warning light on?

Funny was just about to post that. The light is an aftermarket alarm indicator. It will be unhooked this weekend. Notice the inner ring from the Speedo is missing. I didn’t realize it was missing when I installed the speedo. I kinda like how it floods light in. But I’m going install the ring from my old Speedo so Bill doesn’t mock me Laughing

It doesn’t look like a boring drive to me. Beautiful scenery.

Nailed it Bill. Nicely done.

Tim, it is Pretty. There are some long stretches when it feels like your driving in a hallway of trees. Hard to explain.

Haven’t had a chance to play with Xatie’s bug since I delivered it. She’s been driving it.

Had some bug time this week. Did some little things like change oil again, clean up some bits, and trouble shoot non working speakers in back. Will rewire this week. Oh and found the hidden toggle switch that cancels the annoying red dash
Light for old alarm setup.

Took Xatie’s bug up to her Tuesday. Was a nice drive up. Drove it back to Portland for work the next day.

Passed this friendly crossing The Columbia River.

Passed this guy to Very Happy I’m going to call the bugs top speed at 90mph maybe 95.
I never need to go that fast again Shocked 75 all day on freeway is comfortable 80mph if I need it. On my 100 mile commute I keep it 70-75 in-line with traffic.

Proceed with caution. After trespassing on the military range I passed a dude in a type 3 happy to see another air-cooled out in the country side. Gave me a Shaka 🤙

8am Wednesday, time to drive down to Portland for work. 24* out up here. Car started and ran flawless.

I’ve had my bug up to 75 mph, but I keep it between 65 and 67 when on the highway. If anyone seems bugged, they can pass me by. I just seem to be in a hurry, anymore.

I agree Tim. When I'm in my VW's, I typically cruise 65-70 on the freeway happily in the slow lane.

I remember the famous line from Shawshank Redemption that went something like "the world went and got itself in a big damn hurry".. So true...

A bit off topic meanwhile but just stumbled across this set up: a stainless steel acorn nut combined with the original pulley washer...

That is odd Bill, it’s not the 80s. Nor do I have 2 10s bumping from the back with a sweet ass Zapco equalizer and amp up front.
