Exactly what it says ...... I’m interested whether the bar changed at all over the years? My Barndoor has a (repro?) bar with fairly flat ends, as opposed to this genuine ‘58 bar which has very rounded ends. Is the repro correct or should it look the same as the ‘58?

Many thanks for any help!!

Ah, nice one Rob, thanks! Looks like I should have read my other thread for the photos holding the answer. I’ll blame tiredness. It was the early hours of the morning Rolling Eyes Laughing

Next question - are the lengths the same?

55-66 Luggage Bars are supposedly 1367mm (53 13/16").
1967 Luggage bars are shorter.

Anyone have a length for a Barndoor Deluxe Luggage Bar?

[the guy from Hungary mis-selling those repro bars should be barred - theyre junk)

Its the deluxe luggage rails no one makes a good repo of. Only splitpartsunlimited and they are much to thick.

If you find a bulbous end supplier can you share? I have the uprights and we know the bar is easy to get. Just need the ends.

Hey Chris .... who’s the guy from Hungary? Is that where my bar likely originated from?

Rob. Of course dude. I’m in the same boat and need some of the bars. Btw .... I can’t imagine you’ll be buying much from splitpartsunlimited in the near future Shocked

Could have been. Gabor Bitto. This thread explains it all.

He says he's now in Stuttgart, Germany. Probably Porsche CEO too!

I see Evam Classic has been selling a repro 'Barndoor Luggage Bar' for a while now.
I don't know their origin, or their accuracy. Maybe the same guy.

Crap ad.

[For those that don't know, I hear the SplitPartsUnlimited fellow is in prison.]

It's hard to measure alone and I measured it over the mounting brackets but

My '55 Deluxe rear luggage bar is 53.75" which gives me 1365.25mm

Or excluding caps?

Excluding.

I went and measured the total length with caps and it's approx. 54.25"
I'm measuring with it installed so it was across all tops of the uprights too but I don't think that made much of a difference.

My bar has the more rounded ends seen above, they are not flat.
