Hi! How can I attach metal headlight buckets to fiberglass fenders? Now I have some smaller fiberglass buckets, glued in long time agob but it does not have the top lip to fix the headlight rim or the inner tabs to attach the headlight. I have pop riveted a piece o metal on top mfor the rim and I used headlight with 3 screws (adjustment on the rim).

You would glass them in. I haven't done it, but I would glass around the backside to get everything nice and secure. YOu most likely will have some of the resin leak out around the outside so you could finish it off with minimal filler.

I am sure it's done pretty frequently, and I will probably be doing a set myself soon, so curious as well how others have actually done it.

As I remember, the friend who did the fenders for me (maybe 10 years or more), told me that he could not use the resin for fiberglass to secure the metal bucket (maybe because it was not sticking to metal?). This is how I ended up with the Ghia fg buckets in my sb fenders.

I had a fiberglass front end with metal buckets pop riveted in, but they were cracking out and needed some resin & mat added to secure them properly.

I have not had an issue with fiberglass sticking to metal. Maybe you just needed to rough it up a little.
