If you look closely I believe that is 120 km. That would be 75 mph.

I must not have saved it on my phone, not that impressive really. Stock 4 cylinder car all around so about 225 km/hr. . .

You think 225 Km/h is not impressive? I get tickled silly whenever I get mine over 150 K!

Well in VW terms it's pretty good but in Porsche terms it's a bit on the doggy side. I will see what the weather brings on the weekend, it's time to start it up and splash the lube around a bit anyway. Wink

If it gets really nice I might take the Buggy out too. It will put the needle pretty well straight down!

And yes, the speedometer was accurate. I have tickets to prove it

Cold weather this season has turned the speedo into a squealing turkey so its been turned off. Shhh

Does that speedo really go up to 120 mph? I guess ze Germans were nothing if not ambitious!

Mine does the same thing on days when it"s retarded cold. "Squealing turkey" is an apt description.

I can't tell if you are joking but if not, that's 120 KPH, not MPH

120 KPH is 74.5 MPH

Yeah, I was joking. But even 74.5 mph was still pretty ambitious in 1955!

'55 Owner's manual says 68mph, maybe downhill?

Here’s what I understand some pics can be considered acceptable if they have VW content, maybe photoshop a logo in Very Happy. I’m old enough to remember the girls and VWs phase that DB & Hot VW’s went through in the 1980s. I’d have to say I find the female form beautiful, I’m not offended at all.

I have an aftermarket VDO speedometer that goes to 150mph.
I also have 195/45/15s up front.
I’ll ever really know how fast I’m going.
It says I’m doing 110mph when my gps says I’m going 75

Ever eat a hotdog at a gas station? I wouldn’t eat the sushi, but if I’m driving a dependable car well just maybe take a quick pic. You’d be fun on the Gum Ball Rally 😀 BTW your wife took the picture. Very Happy

Mark,
I have to agree with you on this.
I too was skeerd. I just finished up my 2276 and aside from a small oil leak on a pushrod tube of all things (#4 exhaust), it is more than I hoped for. I’ve been taking it out on progressively longer and longer runs, burned a little of the tires off and the usual load one way then the other to help the rings along.
This weekend I took the wife on a 6 hour round trip through the mountains.
The Ghia performed flawlessly (as did my wife...no complaining).
I ain’t skeerd no mo.

Me and you, buddy!

Mine is my only car, and not just my only car now, but my only car ever! The only other vehicle I own has the word "Huffy" written on it (and I got that one when I was nine, so I guess maybe I got some talent for keeping my wheels roadworthy!).

And I won't believe you drive yours like you stole it until I see a pic of your speedo at top end!

Unless, of course, you're skeered. Cool

I had to shame Mark into finally posting his First pic of his '356', which turned out to be a fiberglass kit car I believe.

Bad spelling and grammar does not effect pictures so how would we know it was him? Confused
