Just got a nother vintage VDO tach. This is a 6V 6k tach and now I'm having a mind struggle if to use the 8k or change to the 6k tach. Logic says change to the 6k tach as I will never be close to any two top rpm readings and the 6k would be more correct. But what I like about the 8k is that it's mimic the km/h speedo also going up in steps of 20 (20, 40, 60.. km/h). What do you think?

Anyone have any pictures of their install process for getting the tach to fit in the speaker area? As in, what did you cut out or move around, etc.

I've seen all the various mounting plates out there, I'm more curious to see pictures of the back side of the tach and how people cut the holes.

I have this set- (3 identical smaller gauges) set aside for my '62 convertible- and I cannot wait to see them installed! Very nice set and great looking with early gauges.

The radio gauge pod is made by fast fab. I did the same as others and cut my speaker grill. The only issue I have is that when its hot out the gauge with squeak in the grill opening.
