I'm curious about these 700 series codes too. Here's my August, 64' SO-35 Westfalia plate with M-code 796:

My firetruck also has the unknown 796 code, mine is one day later than yours.

It looks real to me even though it has no M-codes, which is very unique

Yes, the no M-code bus tag seems legit.

This from the gallery has only one code:

Smile
IIRC, it is an SO-45 with papers from when the kombi was outfitted at Westfalia; thread on it a few years back.

m-018 on my June 2 1955 bus is “larger reflector in brake light,” per birth certificate. When i found it, the bus had 1962-1970ish tailights. Doubt that was factory. Maybe the m-code is related to the 3rd brake light? Also, M-086 came back as unidentifiable. anyone know what m-086 is on a Wolfsburg post barndoor?

They made a mistake on that - That M18 is for Beetles.

M18 and M86 are unknown for the very early Buses but very common on N. American delivered Buses so probably something export/N. American delivery related.

Not an envy post but can someone help with this?

Was looking at a 65 Standard M-Code plate and was wondering in more detail on this code 798 which in the mcode page is...

Seen on UC-delivered 9.59 Standard, UP-delivered '65 Standard, UF-delivered model 281 '65 Standard

Anyone want to explain this in English?

Everett is talking about the destination codes found on the M code plate. For example UC is United States, Chicago.

Here is the link for those codes.

Yes, it is a 65 Sunroof Standard walk through. It is the bus that was discussed for 3 pages in the whines thread last month.
