Good hunting on Edwards if you like quail or duck! |
I am a waterfowler actually. Will probably hunt next year. Got here a little too late this year. |

Bit late response, but here it is:
It’s made of a narrow steel rod, not trying to block the already poor vision through the tiny rear window _________________ My 1958 PGSG project topic |

When I built my current engine almost four years ago I decided to use a Thing fan shroud and eliminate my heater boxes.
Well, I got tired of being cold After driving to New Orleans a few weeks ago with frozen toes, I decided to pull the engine out and put heat back in the Bus. I broke the throttle cable so I had to replace it and I noticed my clutch cable was fraying so I replaced it too.

Dropped the beam in the '57 23-window so I can paint under there.
Here's my home made beam-handling jig

This morning, my buddy Brian made a special delivery of my new engine with his 58 shorty delivery rig. Cold here but were working very day getting ready for this upcoming driving season.
My 65 SWR WT Standard (AKA RED or The Teacher) was been sidelined two + years while I replaced and blended the lower 6 inches as well as reworking the mechanicals. Lately, Brian invested some time in walking me through flywheel, dual carbs, etc at his place and lining me out to finish externals at my house, mainly the exhaust and tin. We're all getting pretty excited to be installing the power plant months ahead of schedule and what life with/maintaining two running buses will be like.

Kit? So did all the widebed parts sit on top of the standard bed? I see screw holes that look like it's attached to the standard bed rear gate hinge holes. Is that so?
I've not seen one in person. I'd assumed that the standard bed and bulkhead were removed and the wide bed parts were permanently welded on in to replace them. Interesting if they're actually bolt-ons. _________________ Andy
