A few states have options for a no-title solution.. I think Vermont has a decent one, you just say the VIN, show them the car, and a bill of sale, and they sell you a new title. Other states will give you a Bonded Title for some amt of $$$'s. If you really want to do a build, find that stuff out first, and trailer it to a friend in one of those places for a title.
My opinion is that no Ghia deserves to be crushed. I've only successfully kept 4 from the crusher in my tenure. I have two in my scope at this time, hope I can get to them before city ordinances get there first..
Still looking for my dad's buddy, Bill Mauer, to track down weather or not he left the Canary '72 in Korea or got it shipped back to the states.. I'd love to find it.

Thanks, my issue isn't lack of title. The issue is it has a "salvage title". _________________ GhiaBuild

Oh, I get it. You can buy it fix it and drive it and love it and all that good stuff, but you worry that you'd sell it later for less because of this.
Makes some kind of sense, yes.

Not really too much of a Ghia guy but couldn't pass up this 59 local to me. It'll probably be for sale soon but figured I'd post it in here as I thought it was pretty cool. Looking at the color charts I'd assume it's Aerosilver? Could be wrong though.

Nice project. Isn't that two in the past month? You going to blend them into one usable car? |

Obviously owned by a little old Wilma Finstone, who only used it to drive to Stonehenge on Sundays.
Hopefully you were able to talk the seller into throwing a tetanus booster shot into the final deal.

I "heard" that California cars are the best cars because they are rust-free. |

This one has been parked in this spot for several years not far from my neighborhood- finally got some shots of it last month.

Doesn't look like it's being driven, you think there's any way to convince the owner to sell it to someone else to give it life back? I'm sure there are plenty of people on this site looking for a decent project car. Or is it driven once in a while and just has the flats from sitting over the winter?

It's a cool car- I have been too shy to approach the owners- not sure which house it belongs to... it's been sitting for a while - tags expired 2017.
It looks just a little worse as time goes by _________________ 1963 Karmann Ghia |

The neighbours will know who owns the car. They'd probably welcome enquiries about it, a chance to get rid of it and the worst the owner can say is no. _________________ John.
