I just wanted to followup with you all my split window. Sold the old girl to a great guy near Calgary AB.
I thoroughly enjoyed my ownership experience! I knew it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own a one. My favorite thing to do with it was country cruising at 55mph. Lots of great memories... met my girlfriend with the bug... putted around with my daughter (she loved the bug!).
Thank you all for your wealth of info and allowing me to share my experience.
I'm sure this won't be my last vintage VW. Always on the lookout for something interesting. Got a soft-spot for an early 60's ragtop.
