I'm looking for a new shore charger. I used the Promariner ProSport 20 Plus charger for about 16 months before I started having issues with it.

To be honest I'm not really looking to charge my starting battery. I've never shore power charged my starting batteries and I have no issues. And if I do - I carry jump starter with me.

One thing I want to keep in mind is I will probably be upgrading to LiFePO4 in future.

I'm looking at the Victron Blue Smart IP22 Charger 30A. It has 3 banks but I'll just use the one. It has bluetooth so you can configure easily.

Ive had the Prosport charger sitting in my basement for a year, just never installed it yet, hope it last longer than yours did. The on thing i was not happy about was the claim it cant be used to run your stuff, only as a charger. Is that what you found? I only have a 50 ah house battery, and minimum power draw

I use this charger from CTEK to charge my 50Ah Battle Born LiFePO4 battery. It is mounted in the under sink cabinet, plugged into the same outlet as the Truckfridge. At home my Westy is always plugged in, keeping the battery fully charged.

Take a look at the DLS line of converters from IOTA Engineering. They make plug and play smart charge controllers for them for different types of batteries.

You can start with a lead acid battery and then by a different module when you get your LifePO4

I’ve been using the ProMariner charger on my Odyssey battery which has been a bit disappointing. I plan to replace it with a Noco Genius:
https://no.co/g26000
The specs read good for my application and the charger offers pushbutton reprogramming for cold weather. It will be an improvement over the ProSport which has an inconvenient system where you unscrew a plug and replace it to change voltage profiles. Another one of my disappointing GoWesty purchases.

You know what's interesting about this product is that they advertise it as a power supply and battery charger. I think I'm going to go with this one. The Victron one I worry is not also suppose to be used as a power supply.

I'm sold. The Victron model doesn't advertise that.

The Victron IP22 manual page 7 paragraph 3.3 says it can power loads and charge at the same time.

Wow. Thanks for that. I'll go with the Victron because I like how Victron constantly updates the firmware of their product frequently.

I'm hoping this inverter store will sell me the 30 amp model for $200ish.

Also, I see there is an option of 3 or 1 output on the Victron. I wonder if it is capable of managing those independently.

Here is a link to the manual.

I am very interested in this since it can be a power supply as well. Thanks for bringing it up.

Have you located a version of IP22 that runs on US power, 120v?

Hmm good comment. I am definitely using this on my euro bus project though.

Yes, I'm interested for the same reason but I'd prefer a universal input power model charger.

They do make a 120V version, the IP20, not as nice as the IP22.

That explains why they're so hard to find here in the US. I overlooked the input voltage.

2x

For the Iota DLS

More, you can simply change the pilot behind it, once you change your batteries from lead to LifePO4

Just picked up the DLS-55Amp for $154 shipped from walmart.com and the Iota IQ4 for $21 shipped - for a total of $175 for a 55amp power supply/charger.

I'll use the IQ4 pack until I build my own lifepo4 setup. Also 55amp is highest amperage while using a standard 120v 15a hookup plug.

That DLS you bought my be to high powered for your battery. I use a DLS-30 because Trojan didn’t’ recommend charging at any higher than 30 amps.

FYI

Yeah, I didn't think of that. I was looking more towards future proofing myself when I make the switch to LiFePo4.

I might use the lead acid battery for another year, then upgrade to lithium.
