I'm installing a new swing axle to my 68 Dune buggy. I've installed my axle and now I'm putting my axle tube on right now with out the bearing installed. Question is, is the tube suppose to just slide over the axle with out force? The tube I'm trying to install wont slide completely down without excessive force. Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Yes it should drop into place. There is probably a dent on the inside behind the roll pin.

Look at it this way, the axle is going to be twisting and turning inside that tube. The axle connects the transmissions rotation to the rear drums.
