That is definitely a lot of work in not a lot of time.
Be sure to deal with that lack of fuel line before you start top coating the pan. Youre gonna need to cut open the tunnel to fish the new line in. _________________ Everybody born before 1975 has a story, good, bad, or indifferent, about a VW.

this weekend started cleaning the rear . back at with the wire wheels ,sanders,grinder, stripper,and a lot more elbow grease lol

well I don't have a welder to install new rear pans. but the good news is my buddy has one. bad news hes in the middle of moving. so...gonna be a month or so before floor pan repair. so im gonna keep working on what I can ,to keep it movin . |

decided to work on front beam next . it already has adjusters , brand new shocks , good brakes and pads . steering box feels tight . will add corn oil or ? to steering box . stripped the beam to bare metal and painted . forgot to take pics of striped beam . soon I will buy tie rod ends .sway bar bushings.

QUESTION
am I correct in thinking this beam has been hacked ? in the first pic you can see . it looks like the steering horns or steering stops have been hacked off . or is it just missing rubber top ? it just looks like they were cut off

moved to bulk head . my wife loved me using her vacuum . but hey I needed the inside clean . inside of bulkhead was done with rust converter . then I used engine paint to coat inside bulkhead and tunnel.

I hate to admit it
. but I followed the instructions lol. im more of a look at a few pictures type of guy . but this time I followed por 15s instructions to the T . and dam soooo happy the inner tunnel was painted after this was done

after getting those type of results ,it really put some wind in my sail
. after putting "YOU WOULDNT BELIEVE ME ANYWAY " amount of hours stripping this to bare metal by hand , this was great

on to the rear .. im going por 15 on chassis only. from what I researched its uv un stable ? then adding por 15 top coat .
