Sorry to interrupt your regularly scheduled program. But I'm just curious if my old 57' Ghia ever ended up in the hands of someone here?
This car was GIVEN to me by a guy for rebuilding the top-end of his 56' Sunroof 356. Yeah, I'm not making that up.
It was a late 56' production (57' ) and very very very very awesomely untouched ~ 50k miles. It had been painted once, and interior had been tastefully covered up. But otherwise stock. Original engine, gas gas heater, everything.
I sold it here on the Samba in 05' , and I think the guy was from Portland.
Shortly after selling it I think I got some emails from him ...and man..it was NOT going in the right direction. I think he scrubbed the 36hp for a 1600 and did some other non-forward thinking mods. I've probably blocked it from my mind.
Anyway...just curious.. here it was as I got it, and a couple pics right before I sold it-

Dude, I don't know man. I did the front end..and since I had the entire beam off I welded some adjusters in, I figured why not. And Had some 14" Fuchs, again..why not.
But that was IT. Pretty sure it went to Nor Cal or Oregon. And the one update I got was NOT GOOD. I was hoping someone out there got it and was running it through rehab. _________________
