Can't wait to see this SC in person at the upcoming "Spring Fling" VW event! Nice progress Sir! If you need extra hands in the throw-down assembly process leading up to the event, let us know...

Beautiful, and just a few miles away from me right now. I can't wait to see you guys debut it at the "Spring Thing" VW show in early May! You've really brought that Bus back to life, a BEAUTIFUL life! Congratulations!

A lot has changed over the last month. Larry decided to go for the gusto and have his dream engine built.
I've got my hands full at the moment, so he's having our local St. Louis air cooled engine guru, Jason at Midwest Air Cooled build him a thick wall 1835 with dual 34EPCs. Jason is also, going to rebuild his trans and upgrade to a Freeway Flyer.
I pulled the transaxle and yanked off the RGBs and axles and took the trans to Jason.
1940's era Blue Point drum puller from my Grampa's service station still in service today.
Larry sold off his old 40HP since it wasn't numbers matching to the truck and there wasn't anything that could be used for the new engine.

Larry decided to run a header, so stock heat boxes were eliminated. He instead decided to run a diesel heater, so I had to integrate it into the truck.
Decided to pipe it into the stock heat tube under the cab for stock flow control instead of just having it dump behind the seat.
Eliminated the stock pipe behind the crossmember and opened a hole in the treasure chest where the heater will reside.
The diesel fuel tank supplied was too tall to stand up in the treasure chest so I devised some mounts to hold it strong on a slight angle.
Pretty cool set-up, comes with everything needed to install (except clear instructions and mounting brackets) Also has a digital controller for the dash and a remote fob to control from the house if you want to pre-heat the truck.

i think i would have placed the heater, and possible a different tank outside, underneath the treasure chest.less holes in the body, natural access the heater tube, and no space wasted in the treasure chest. That is what i did on my camper, just with propane. _________________ regards
