My father says my 1973 Squareback's front suspension doesn't have grease points. Is he right or lazy? _________________ 1973 VW Squareback |

The beam has 4 grease fittings, one on either end of the upper and lower sections. The fittings for the upper section may be hard to find, since they're located in the mount brackets, and often crusted over with dry grease - but they're there.
Also, the ball joints may have grease fittings, as well. |

Page 51 of the 1973 Owner's Manual shows the grease points. If you don't have the manual, you can find a PDF of the manual under the Technical Tab.
For the 1973, greasing was specified as every year or 18,000 miles. I believe the duration was less for previous years. |

Also check the right upper sway bar adjustment, as they like to change if they haven't been done regularly. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof
